Lanterns of the Deep Wood

Lanterns of the Deep Wood is quiet and gorgeous. You explore a forest full of small mysteries, light lanterns to reveal paths, and slowly piece together why you're there. There's no combat, just curiosity and the occasional gentle puzzle.

The touch controls are perfect for the mood: tap to move, drag to interact, nothing fiddly. I got lost a couple of times in the best way, wandering until a hidden clearing opened up. The music does a lot of the emotional heavy lifting.

It's a short game, maybe four or five hours, but it stayed with me. If you want something atmospheric rather than demanding, this is a lovely pick for a rainy evening.
